KENSINGTON PARK APARTMENTS
Residential Apartment Buildings
This apartment building complex for Kensington Park Holdings consisted of a building with two towers of five and six storeys, forming 48 residential apartments. A central podium connected the towers at the two lower retaining levels of the building.
Multiple structural systems were used to account for the complex building arrangement and site, selected with a focus on value-engineering and ease of buildability. The structure consisted of composite concrete and steel decking floors supported on a steel structure, concrete pre-cast walls to the lower storeys, and steel seismic frames to the upper stories.
Careful collaboration with the architect allowed for a structural layout that facilitated the desired architectural layouts and building uses, and accommodated the various structural systems in the building
